The World of A Photo Researcher with Alyssa Ortega Coppelman

In her virtual session, Alyssa will describe the unique path that led her to the world of art research and photo editing—and, more specifically, how she became an independent photo editor, art researcher, and photobook consultant. She will share published magazine layouts to demonstrate how photographs make their way onto the page in Harper’s and the Oxford American. Using Instagram’s search and save functions as an example, she will demonstrate how she sources images. She will also address how best to make connections with magazine industry people. Other topics Alyssa will address include her work as an archival researcher, portfolio reviews, photo contests, meetings, cold emails, hashtags, and more.
