American Faith | Christopher Churchill

(B. 1977 Camden, ME) Christopher Churchill is a Boston based photographer.  His works is held in various public collections that include The Addison Gallery of American Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Center for Creative Photography, The High Museum of Art, The J. Paul Getty Museum, MFA Boston, MFA Houston and The Smithsonian.  His clients include Businessweek, Esquire, Flaunt, GQ, Inc., Money, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, National Geographic Adventurer, PBS American Experience, Salvation Army, Stern and The Wall Street Journal.  His work has been published and exhibited internationally.  He was named a Critical Mass top 50 in 2010.  His first monograph American Faith, was published in 2012 by The Joy of Giving Something and Nazraeli Press.

STATEMENT


American Faith is “an exploration into the inherent human need to be connected to something greater. Faith is an undeniable part of organized religion yet, its reach is far greater than those institutions.” Christopher Churchill has spent years traveling the country, documenting all forms and manifestations of faith. As a result, American Faith carefully examines the diversity of religions being practiced in the United States today.

Named a Critical Mass top 50 in 2010, Christopher Churchill has received honors from around the globe. His work is held in numerous public collections, and his monograph, American Faith, was published by The Joy of Giving Something and Nazraeli Press.
