Studio Lighting
Course Description:
Three dimensional still life subjects often present the most interesting lighting opportunities and challenges. Half the challenge is positioning one piece, or a group of items or people, to present an interesting image. The other half is lighting the elements so that the light becomes part of the creation.
The first part of the workshop introduces you to the basics of set lighting with a demonstration of the essential tools for creating lighting effects, measuring light, camera positioning, lens selection and many of the other elements that go into lighting a set.
Then, working in small groups, you will be presented with three increasingly challenging opportunities. Guided by your instructor, you will work through each set, creating digital images that will be used to evaluate your progress.
