Outdoor Lifestyle and Portrait Class
Course Description:
Have you ever wanted to learn how to create the kind of images you see in outdoor/nature magazines?
Want to learn how to light a shot using simple reflectors, overhead scrims and a flash? Are you interested
in understanding image optimization and retouching? This class is a great introduction to outdoor lifestyle
photography, lighting techniques, working with models, retouching in the computer and general workflow capabilities.
If you are a wedding photographer, portrait shooter or enthusiast who wants to learn new techniques, this class is
for you. Each day we have shoots with models and learn new portrait techniques.
We will begin with an orientation and an overview of the weekend on Friday night from 7pm to 9pm. Early Saturday morning we will have a photo shoot with models followed by a workflow demo in class. After lunch, we will meet in the classroom to discuss the photo shoot, look at retouching techniques and answer questions. We will break for dinner, and then return to class to critique the day's images. Sunday morning will look at more advanced flash and portrait techniques. Afterwards we will have another model shoot and work in the classroom on image optimization and retouching. We will conclude the weekend with a review and critique of the final images that we produce in class.
