Course Description:
What are the elements of great, stunning, unique, compelling, show-stopping, prize-winning images?

In this special workshop, Art in Nature Exhibition Juror George Lepp will demonstrate the approaches and techniques that will take your outdoor and nature photography beyond the mundane
and into the realm of art.

George will offer a formal presentation about the factors he considers when composing, capturing, and editing his images and demonstrate ways to use digital processing and print media to enhance the quality and artistic look of your images and prints. He’ll discuss the essentials of superb imagery, from technical quality to originality, and identify the deadly presentation errors he commonly encounters in competitions and portfolio reviews. Following this introduction, using portfolios submitted by workshop participants and winning photographs from the Art in Nature exhibition, George will critique a variety of images to demonstrate what works—and what can sabotage an otherwise interesting photograph. George will also conduct a tour through the Center’s gallery to discuss the work he selected for the Art in Nature exhibition.
