Photographer Jhinryung Oh frequently explores the notion of self within natural environments. Her centralized compositions foreground shadowed subjects, drawing parallels to the hidden vistas of the mind.

In her own words:

I am interested in the body transformed by black color and without shadow, because black visually invokes senses of fear, the veiled, and the grotesque. It suggests various subjects, as a black being that implies covered truth.
