Roller derby is a sport about community. Behind the clever monikers (Lucrushya Borgia, Apocaliz-Now) and short skirts, you will find women from hugely diverse backgrounds – nurses, psychologists, mothers, woodworkers, executive professionals and bar tenders among countless others – united by a passion for adrenaline and the pursuit of the perfect hip check. Photographer Kate Wilhelm highlights this diversity as she photographs derby girls in their domestic environments.
