Alan Zakem is a professional fine art and commercial photographer based in New Orleans. He trained at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts and has won many awards for his work. He also owns a digital printing company and has just as much pride in his printing as he does in his shooting.
Statement
Many people question why we would choose to live in a city below sea level and many friends have left this city because they couldn’t answer that question for themselves. The goal of these photographs is to show people as well as show myself, why people should remain in New Orleans instead of seeking higher ground.
