What I Keep
I collaborate with a community of difference, many races, backgrounds, and lifestyles.

Many of the people have had significant disruptions in their lives, experienced periods of homelessness or incarceration, addiction to drugs and alcohol, mental illness or profound poverty and hopelessness.
They meet on Sunday morning at The Church Under the Bridge (I-35) in Waco, TX, a non-denominational, multi-cultural church that has been gathering there for more than sixteen years. I ask each person what he or she keeps and why it is valued.
My work explores ideas of ownership, value and cultural identification; it is a collaborative project that is in its second year. The work is a series of life size portraits with brief statements about
the person’s choice.
