Lighting with Flash
Course Description: Class will focus on how to get the most from your speedlight. We will review lighting theory, lighting styles and techniques, light modifiers and accessories for speedlights. After lunch we will have models on hand for students to practice their speedlight technique. Topics include one light portraits, fill flash, bounce flash, high speed flash and wireless off camera flash shooting. Class is good for beginning and intermediate photographers. Students should bring a camera and speedlight to class and optional laptop for taking notes. All class participants will get Tom’s 25 page notes on lighting.

Tom is a contributing editor at Digital Photo Magazine and frequently writes for other photography magazines as well. Tom was on the list of National Geographic Adventure’s “50 of America’s Top Visionaries” for his photography, and his images have been featured by Nikon and American Photo. He is a Bogen Mentor, Lensbaby Guru and Elinchrom has recognized his portraiture. His images have been used in magazines, brochures, billboards, books, postcards, and calendars worldwide. He regularly teaches photo workshops, and is a member of ASMP.
