Beginning Encaustic Workshop with Kimberly Chiaris

 

This workshop will be hands-on, working with images and learning the encaustic process. After a short history of the encasutic process, students will begin to work on their own images, or images provided. At the end of class, a hand out will be provided that cover the process and necessary tools needed to continue working on your own.

Kimberly Chiaris Bio:

Kimberly Chiaris received her BFA in Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1984. She has worked with many forms of photographic art including, Traditional Silver Print, Cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, Hand Colored Black and White, and Encaustic on photographs. Plastic Diana. Pinhole, and digital cameras as well as Photoshop are all tool she has used to create her art.
She has taught workshops and adjunct classes at the Kansas City Art Institute, University of Missouri, The Center for Fine Art Photography, and with Working with Artists at Student Art league of Denver.
She loves to help people begin a journey of discovery in all areas of photographic art.
