Massive star fields are an excellent reminder that we are very small. They also warrant a tip of the hat to the photographer – Fred Mertz – who stood patiently in the absolute pitch black to record these celestial bodies.
Having the good fortune to call the San Francisco Bay Area home and with it’s proximity to the Sierra, the great deserts, and the coastline, as a photographer, I am offered a magnificent opportunity to capture the diverse natural beauty of California through my lens.
