Charles Rushton set up his first dark room at age 11. Between 1980 and 2002, Rushton photographed 125 New Mexico artists and photographers. 84 of these portraits now reside in the permanent collection of The Albuquerque Museum. Some of Rushton’s additional bodies of work include Fathers, Couples, Advocates of the Arts, and Children.
