NOVEMBER 5 – JANUARY 1, 2011
The Center is pleased to present Jesus Jimenez’s first solo exhibition in the United States, Energy Traces.
An excerpt from Jimenez’ artist statement:
Working in photography, video and installation, I have found my inspiration in a personal obsession for the order, the trace and the object. Playful and inventive, my ideas may stem from a desire to mold a particular material or object – from hand dryers or dead leaves to bricks – with which I explore my relation with the World. The creative body of work is about staging and documenting absurd transitory and ephemeral situations for the camera. The intention is to appeal to open answers and questions from the audience, not only for the situations in front of the camera, but also for the ideas behind the camera.
The Center is currently looking for artists proposals for exhibition. We are looking for emerging as well as established photographers with strong bodies of work to exhibit at the Center in either the East or South Gallery. Deadline for proposals is January 14, 2011. MORE INFO
